Name this part - need help quickly :)

Im working on the starter with my dad. He bumped something, and this broke off. We have no idea where it came from. Looks kinda like a knob or something.

Looks like its a knoob for the EGR modulator. You might have vac leak now... Plug it up or replace it. If you can not find one. I might have a spare at home.

No, its not knob. Its just small air filter for the vac.​

ah, just a little filter? so it shouldnt matter if i run without it right now then right?

100% guaranteed it's a filter
i suggest you replace the valve or try and glue it back together. dirt could conceivably get in the valve and cause it to stick or leak.

yup, can confirm its a VSV filter
