almost exactly 30%. its actually a little more if you want to get into the decimals.

put the same power thru a powerglide and the loss will be reduced. it's not ALWAYS 30%.

as a rule of thumb, the kilowatts your engine makes is the horsepower you have at the wheels.

The older the auto trans the larger the losses.

Things like TorqueFlites and Powerglides eat up the power but also handle huge power.

Later boxes are more like your 25-30% whilst earlier ones may run 35%
