LS400 Suspension Interchangability

Anyone know for sure if ucf10(1989-1994) and ucf20(1994-2000) suspension can be swapped? I'm looking into some secondhand tein coilovers, but they are from a ucf20. I have a ucf10.

Any idea why different manufacturers have different year model specs?

The best and cheapest way to know this is to bring your own shock/springs or air shocks to an autopart store and compare between your car's year to another car's year. Pretend that you'll buy their parts.
