ls400 alternator alternative

i have a 92 ls400 and my alternator is about go out. i searched the part number but it seems to be very specific (ls400 only):
F4000-101138 denso
F4000-27357 bosch

just in case the parts stores are closed today, can i use an alternator from something else like a sc400 or another toyota? thanks

SC400 will fit but may have different plugs
