Learning About Australia

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
My wife drives a fully optioned 2008 SLK55, if you follow Mercedes prices you know what it cost.

My drive car is an old ML320. Probably worth less than I've spent on my project.

Why do I work on a 34 year old Range Rover in my garage and get black fingernails?

Cause I love it. I learn something new every day (like don't stick your finger in there or it will get crushed) and I can stand back and say "I did it"

We all bleed red and put our duds on one leg at atime.

Never forget where you came from as in the end we all end up dead!

Life's short and live it to the full.

I want to die at 100 chasing my wife up the stairs with my duds around my ankles!!!

When you get older you see things differnetly.

I want to die at 110 years of age behind a boosted 700whp SC400 while smoking the competition and then hitting a concrete wall barrier as I adjust my bi-focals and then blowing up into a million pieces.. I guess you can say I want to go out with a bang...

The pants around the ankles and chasing the wife up the stairs is nice and lovely but without a massive dose of Viagra it's not happening at that age. Also if by chance you can get the old motor to work for you I don't know if I would even want to sleep with my wife of a 100 years of age.. That might kill my buzz and give me a heart attack...:trink26: Sounds nice in theory though Zuff......

Men at work, land down under they are all drinking Foster beers, hmmmm? I thought someone mentioned that is a New Zealand brewed beer and real Aussie's don't drink it...Something is a miss...

Yeah, Fosters kinda sucks... Not my first choice of beers to choose from off the shelf... However, I have drank a couple on occasion in the past out of those steel looking blue cans and caught a silly buzz, and then to my suprise while draining the weasel I found myself singing "I come from a land down under. . . ":beerchug:

Those guys from Men at Work appear to be gay to me...Especially that fruit cake with the lazy eye...No? :flirt:

I think George Michaels or Boy George I can't remember were caught in a public bathroom drinking a Fosters with the singers from Men at Work..It was all over the news go figure?...:eek5:

Perhaps we should have a tour to Australia. Jibbby are you down?

Well, If I can become one with the universe, chant with the Dali Lama, and light a few mind calming insenses and some how find the inner most peace and patience to actually sit thru that painfully long flight then I would be good to go...I just hate those long plane flights around the world..... Being a tall guy that usually fly's no class, it can tend to get a little rough on the old bod....

Find us a good traveling package Lex and we can do the Lextreme globe to globe tour

HA count me in for the aus tour aswell,

I discovered something very nice about australia last weekend, There's festival in my hometown Apeldoorn called Jazz in the Woods, every year.

Last weekend we went there to look at some bands and have a few beers, I encoutered the best dixiland combo I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot,
I think it was called the "The Noosa Australia Jazz Factory"
the lead singer/trumpetist was probably 3 times my age but the little guy sure did good. and sang the funiest lyrics:icon16:

anyone from Noosa on here that knows these fellows? give them my regards.

grtz Thomas.

Guys, if you wanna see Jazz or Blues come to Los Angeles, California and get a schedule for the Hollywood bowl and the Greek theater... Hollywoodbowl.com is the best... They have vantastic Jazz events, Blues events, Orchestra's from around the world, etc.. It's outdoors and the acoustics are unreal, I am blown away every time I go.... You can bring your own booze and food during the concerts events too..It's outdoors.. Last week I saw the Police reunion, and REM.. Last year BB King, Phil Collins, UB40, Reggae fest, etc..... It's world renoune and every band want's to play their.. It's built between mountains and is the best concert facility I've ever seen and heard...

Something to concider if you guys ever make it out this way.. Open for summer time only...

Before we shut down this thread one last question -

How's the grub in Australia overall? Restaurants, home cooking, etc...???

I traveled to England recently for a few weeks and was backed up the entire time. With that being I got to say England has the worst and most unhealthy food on the planet.. My arteries get clogged just thinking about it...

No offense to the Brits but I must call it as I see it...I am hoping Australia is a bit better...

Fried fish "n" chips in paper anyone? On a positive note- The brews in the corner pubs in England were outstanding though...:friday:

Thats funny. The poms say the same thing about the food in America.

And this is coming from a guy who lives in the land of "Supersize me". Our food is good, BBQs are a healthy way to eat and if you combine it with fresh veg you have a meal fit for a King, or in your case a President lol. Food is something that literally is personal taste, I love a stir fry or a home made pizza, pasta, hamburgers, baked dinner, salad, anything really. Well no not anything really, I cant stand red or pink fish, never liked pork (love bacon though, go figure huh) lamb is ok but to fatty for me, Turkey well what can I say about Turkey YUK (crave for a good chicken). Basically at my place we buy the ingredients but make the end product ourselves and that includes bread. The only time we have pre-packaged food is if we are in a huge rush and its in the microwave and eaten in 10 minutes flat. I haven't eaten McDonalds in about 12 months and couldn't swallow it now either especially when you see the pimply teens that cook it. I can still eat KFC and love a Zinger Works burger but that's about it. If you want to go to out for a meal it WILL cost you but you are paying for quality and reputation. The last time I ate out was with a friend in Newcastlea couple of months ago, I had a Chicken snitzel (sp?) with a side salad and I think the chef spilt an entire bottle of salad dressing on it (instead of giving it a sprinkle), the chicken was saturated and the dressing was so strong it would take your breath. Needless to say I wont go back there and wont recommend it to anyone either.

Without a doubt out food quality and the method of preparation (McDonalds aside) is as good as it gets.

My wife and I eat out 3-4 times a week and Aussie food is reasonbly priced and excellent quality.

It's a rare Aussie home that doesn't have good food on the table every night.

Having teavelled a goodly part of the world we are blessed in food quality and methods of preparation.

We may not have the best Restauranrts but our food is still outstanding.

Wow, what a pleasant suprise, I am getting hungry just reading this, Australia sounds good too go......

Stormtrooper, Yes your right America is the meca for fast food and bad eating too if you choose to eat that way, but our varity is very diverse especially in Los Angeles, California and the West coast... We got more health stores, organic food options, restaurants of all nationalities, supermarkets, etc.. I would say where you live in the USA has a direct influence on your diet...In the Southern states (The South) you tend to eat alot of fried and fast foods and most people are fat. In California or the West coast I would say it is a different story altogether, it's the meca for fitness and proper eating.. So it varies... In the USA you can always find what you want to eat though, in England that was not always the case as my friends and I struggled..

This was a typical day of Food and grub when I was traveling thru England, Ireland, and Scottland... This was in restaurants and B & B's too...

The tradition English breakfast - Fried toast with a fried egg on top, maybe ham and or a sausage patty and some bacon on the side to go along with all the grease... Tasty but not healthy by any means of imagination..

Lunch - Fried fish and chips with maybe a small side salad if we were lucky and a tasty brew to wash it down....

Dinner - Nothing..As I usually had indigestion at that point and was ready to spray or barf.....

I am sure you can choose to eat healthy in the UK if you shop and cook, I am just saying the common restaurant menu's and common diet in the UK is just a bit suspect.. I would venture to say there is not enough fruits and veggies going around... I must say I loved traveling thru the UK though and am not bashing it....I will go back soon, no pun intended.. Love the Brits..

PS..Traveling thru Spain was a different story but not all that great either, coffee, cigerettes, cheese and wine was the common theme for most... What I did notice is all the Spaniards love to walk though, so much that mostly all of the women had great arses...He He .. See ya...

Mexico has the worst food of all, and most Americans living close to the boarders will atest to that... It's just not the same as the mexican food prepared in the States either... There is saying if you drink the tap water in Mexico you get Monte Zuma's revenge... Diarrea for weeks which is all to true...Your best friend on a Mexican vacation is Imodium D and Pepto...:Flush:

how true the britts can't cook at all, it'd be better for them to stick to building quick cars and hire some french to do the food,
and vice versa btw!
