well ive been reading about project lextreme alot and i was thinking about doing somewhat the same stuff..however i wanted to go bigger bore. how far can i bore this block out to but still be safe to run pretty hefty amout of boost..and how many liters will it come out to...

thanks

chris

The cylinder liners are only 2mm wall thickness.

Boring is out of the question unless you want to re-sleeve with aftermarket, or Chevy, liners

Red,

How much increase with 40-over? I talked to my engine builder he stated that he can increase from the 3.31" to 3.51" stroke. I assume the 40 over would be from 3.700" to 3.740" right?

40 over:
That will bring the 2uzfe to 320.77 Cubic Inch.

0 over:
Stock bore and stroke is 317.34 cubic inch.

Stroke from 3.31" to 3.51":
This will bring the cubic inch to 336.51

40 over with 3.51":
This combo will bring cubic inch to 340.15

Not much increase and it will weaken the block too. http://lextreme.com/stroke.html

I don't belive that a .40 thousand overbore on a steel tunda block will weaken it. Even a stock bore steel motor will split it's liners with enough power.
I do agree that a .40 thou overbore won't give a noticable power difference. I wish somone would make a bigger stroke crankshaft that does not cost an arm and a leg.

hey lex whats the beauty of a 2UZ and why cant i use my 1UZ for this motor build what does the 2UZ have that the 1UZ have besides the bore and stroke i can put the tundra crank in with some little bit larger pistons than the tundra and i can still have the 6 bolt main..whats the difference?

i thought the 1UZ was aluminum but i wasn't sure cool well thanks for confirming that. i just got a job at a machine shop and we get really good deals on ross pistions and JE pistons so it looks like that im going to start this engine build within 2 months gotta do some more research first...

thanks for the help

Is this Right >?

2UZ FE 0 over:

stock bore and stock stroke = 284.5 cu.in.

Best way to increase displacement is by using smaller journal Chevy or 'HONDA' sized big ends.

This will yeild 8mm + 84.074mm = 92.074mm or 3.62496063 inch stroke.

3.70 x 3.70 x 3.62496063 x .7854 x 8 = 286.52651609063328 cu.in. 4.7

FORD Cobra engines use stroke changes rather than larger bore increases.

Their 'standard' 4.6 / 5.4 bore is 3.55 inch vs our 4.7 bore of 3.70 inch .

I do like the sound of their 3.8" stroke 5.0 engine alot !
