how does a boost controller work?

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
It bleeds off the boost signal to the wastegate actuator, so that you can trick it into beleiving that the turbo is producing less boost than it actually is, which will keep the wastegate shut for longer.

oh. so that would make a wastegate a electronic part that reads off the boost gauge. but then... strange, ill have to look into what makes up a wastegate. thanks for the reply.

No, no, the waste gate has a boost/vac hose connected to it from the intake manifold.
That hose is what a boost controller is connected into.
An electronic boost controller uses a solenoid in line on that hose and opens and shuts the valve within it to control how much pressure the wastegate actuator sees.
