Hi all,
I must confess before I start, I do not own a Lexus, or a Lexus powered Car, but I am looking into the delights of Lexus power
My present toy is a Mk2 Cortina, Rover 3.9 V8 powered, Supra W58? 5 speed, via a home made Bellhousing and a home made relocated lever and Quickshift, also runs a Mid 80s celica LSD axle with Moser shafts, so you can see Im not adversed to a wee bit of Jap engineering, or a bit of home engineering either.

I am seriously looking to upgrade to a bigger better V8 in the near future, even thiough, the old Pushrod V8 has done me well,

Welcome aboard the journey is worth it.

My first step would be to measure the engine bay.

The engine needs around 700mm across the heads, 700 in length and 700 high.

I had trouble squeezing the 1UZ into my Range Rover chassis.

Looking at your photos it will be very tight at the master cylinder.

These engines are better than a Rover on all fronts (except economy strangly enough) and well worth the effort.

You can buy a bellhousing for your W series cheaply from Australia and make this a simple conversion.

Now get that measuring tape out and let us know how it all looks.

NICE Mkll you have there.. They are worth a fortune now...
I know of a Mk11 GTE sold here for $17,000 ...
20 years back I fitted a 302W into a Mk1 Escort..
Wish I still had it!!
YEP !! The tape measure will tell you everything ...
Being a virgin I hope you know where / what to measure ?? lol...

hy welcome:) im virgin to but 20stone male so dont ask! lols gotta say thats a very nice cortina it would be wortha fortune here in the u.k:)

Welcome !!

Is that 3.9 engine is the same as Land rover Discovery 3.9 engine ?
I'm thinking about swap it with 1UZ!!

Yep its basically the same, but mine is a really early engine, bored and re-linered, there are no real external differences, untill you start getting into the later X bolted engines.
