Hi All, My engine has a starting problem and is gradually getting worse any help would be appreciated

When starting it will wind over for 4-5 second before starting with some help from the Accelerator, It also seems to be down on power and using alot of fuel (seems to run rich). No error codes came up when I did a diagnostics check.

It also has an Idle problem which may or may not be related, it will idle high sometimes while other times it will hunt and eventually stall, I've cleaned out the ICV (spun very freely) and it didn't fix the problem

My thought's are maybe a blocked Cat converter or a vacuum leak (but i can't find one)

Again any help would be very appreciated

I had a similar problem with mine and after a very thorough throttle body cleaning (both the plates and the sensor ports in there) its been running great. Don't know if you've tried that yet but its worth a shot for a 4 dollar bottle of carb/choke cleaner.

What car/year do you have?

Some have a Fuel Pump ECU which is known to fail.
Bridge B+ and FP in the diagnostics box and try again.

As suggested above get some throttle body/carby cleaner and clean the throttle body and ISCV. Once you've done that, you may need to adjust your TPS so that the IDL and E2 contacts are working properly. This will normally sort out your idle.
Use the 7MGTE specs to adjust the TPS. The IDL/E2 setup is all you need to worry about.

If that doesn't work the next step is to try the CSI (cold start injector) and CSI timer.
Unlikely but worth a try

Failing all that the capacitors in the main ECU are known to die and cause starting/economy issues. They may need changing.
