Hey guys, great forum.

I would like to know some general maintenance questions - for Australia.

Does anyone have part numbers for:

Timing belt
'fan belt'
Oil filter

And what is the general parts for

Spark plugs (i forget whats in it now)
Engine oil
Trans oil

If this information is posted somewhere else, can you please add the link. I have tried searching for them but to no avail. Maybe I was not using the right words to search for.

Thanks for your help.

Webbie,

Looks like no one has an answer.

I suggest you contact your nearest Lexus or Toyota dealer and ask.

The serpentine (fan) belt is readilly available at any REPCO type store as is the oil filter. I know I use a RYCO but only because that was what was on the shelf at REPPCO but don't know the number.

If you get the numbers post them up.

We may get the Technical Section upgraded to include common use part numbers for parts like yours and leads/rotors/caps etc.

Oh well, it was worth a try.

Once I get the part numbers (prob all REPCO) I will post them up for all to see.

Thanks for your response.

Cheers

Dayco do the belts and so do Bosch
Fan belt -6PK2240
-6PK2230 After 11/94
Timing belt -94215 (dayco only)

Send me a PM and I will get some prices for you if you like?
I will post part numbers for oil, oil filter, trans fluid and spark plugs when I get home

engine oil .... any 15W/40 - 20W/50 should do the job.
just dont get too cheap stuff. and make sure you dont one suited to ral old cars.
just something like Shell Helix should do the job. even semi-sinthetec Shell Helix Plus would prolly be a better option.

oil filter just use Ryco etc. just use the book at the parts store to find the suitable filter for a LS400/SC400 etc.

trans fluid .... toyota recommends 'dextron type II' but 95% of all v8 soarer drivers in australia swear by 'dextron type IV' so i'd use it.

spark plugs i believe are a 1.1mm gap from factory. plz corrent if incorrect.

timing belt.... get hold of the local Lexus dealer.

Thanx

Thanks guys,

Lifesavers. I knew that someone out there would be able to help in one way or another. I'm only new to world of v8's and I will be doing all of the maintenance myself. It's a big investment i've made and I want to look after it.

Cheers.
