gearbox wiring

hi there , i have a 1996 soarer v8 (jdm ) this car needs a replacement gearbox but i cant find one from the correct year . what i need to know is can an earlier model gearbox be fitted to this car , has anybody got any wiring diagrams .

the main thing u need is make sure the plug for the solenoids is the same

some are early are mainly 6 pin

newer ones can be 8 pin

crown 1uz autos have 6 pin too but they have different speed sensors on back and will cause probs and u have to use speed signal adjuster

hi sideshow , my box has the 8 pin connector and i cant find a replacement , i need to know if i can use an early box with 6 pin connector and match 6 of the wires up and leave the extra ones unconnected . any wiring diagrams would help .
