Rush Imports has a fuel saver product made by mtech listed for sale on the website. The usual questions--Has anybody tried it? Does it work vs snake oil if it sounds too good to be true(you know the rest). It sure would be great if it really worked.

Given the high price of fuel (which is much cheaper than bottle water!) I'm pretty sure the manufacturers of large cars, who's sales have been hit by rising fuel costs, would be fitting any gizmo that would improve their gas mileage by even 10%.

I think I hear a squeaky snake in need of oiling?

If you want to save fuel you fit a gizmo and then putt putt around working out your fuel consumption, low and behold it has gone down because you want to save fuel and you change your driving patterns.

Works ever time untill you get bored driving like Grandpa.

I would want to see quantifiable results for any of these cyclone, magnetic, power pill things sold by anyone.

I agree--driving around at 55 mph below 2000rpm is painful no matter what kind of car you drive.

Rush Imports seems to be reputable---maybe there is something to the product if there are willing to distribute and associate their name with it. If it really works we should have access to much more data than that available on the mtech website.

Keys to saving fuel with an SC400....

1) Inflate the tires just slightly beyond the recommended tire pressure limit, and allign all the wheels.....When the car rolls easy the fuel will be saved..
2) Remove your spare tire, tools, and jack, along with your 12CD changer and any other weight in the car you can think of. Also go on diet yourself...Less weight means less fuel will be used..
3) Install a piggy back ECU and then re-tune the engine to run lean... That will save you at the pumps and maybe even give you some more power to boot..
4) Tune the car up - replace plugs, wires, battery cables, fluids, etc.. A good running motor will be more effecient for fuel economy.. If the engine works more efficient it should move the car easier and save you fuel..

Good luck that's all I can think of...

I have gotten 30-31mpg roundtrip (mainly highway) in my stock LS400. The key is to keep the speeds low, coast in neutral on downhills, and keep the tires inflated to around 40-41psi cold.

No the key is to keep the rpms low actually... Like cruising at 55mph at 2000rmps... Going 90mph at 4000rmps will use more fuel in a hurry... Don't be heavy footed like me either on the gas pedal....

I would say changing your stock exhaust out to highflow and reworking the intake may save you a bit at the pumps too in theory...Again a more efficient motor will move the car easier and save you petrol...

You can always ride your bike and leave the lexus at home to collec dust. I gaurantee that will save you at the pumps and even get you in better physical shape too...
