Fan Clutch question

I opened up my fan clutch to add some oil, but the black rubber seal will not sit in the groove. It actually looks to big as if stretched and now the diameter is larger than it supposed to be. Anyone had this problem?

Interesting problem. I have never seen that before. Why were you oiling the bracket? Making noise?

I opened up my fan clutch to add oil as it was starting to fail The seal inside between the two plates would not fit back in. I finally split the seal, took just enough off so the ends would join. It might end of up leaking, if it does I was told I could get the seal from a Marine store as they have tons of different sizes.
