Hi, Lex.

I have been lurking on this site for some time now and wondered why no one ever mentioned Fast or Accel/DFI systems. These two systems are probably the most common in the United States in drag racing circles. I have never used the Fast system, but have friends who have and they speak very highly of it. I have two vehicles with the Accel/DFI systems and am very pleased with them. See one of my cars at www.badbenz.com -- and another at www.badstang.com -- The Mustang is not on the road yet, but I have been driving the Benz for the last 6 or 8 years. Both the Fast and Accel/DFI systems are very user-friendly. Check out the Fast system at www.fuelairspark.com and the DFI system at www.mrgasket.com -- You can go to the catalog section and download the PDF files on Accel/DFI.

My next project, which I am already collecting parts for, is a 240Z which I am going to put a '95 LS400 engine in. I will probably be using the Accel system in it also.

Z8,

You are a Lextremer. No doubt. The Bad Benz, Bad Stang and will be Bad240Z. Love your imagination. I know lots Mustangs and GNs use FAST ECU. I wonder if this system will work on the 1UZFE.

What I plan to do is remove the distributors and go with the Ford EDIS-8 crank trigger system. this will work with either the FAST,ACCEL or megasquirt systems. This would be a really clean and cool lookin with the cam gears exposed.

I had the F.A.S.T. on my last mk3 supra which put down 713 rwhp on a 7mgte. One of the better systems out IMO, not including the Motec. Individual cylinder timing, individual injector control, etc. Looking to go stand alone again on my new supra, but the F.A.S.T. was a little to expensive for me last time so I will most likely go w/ AEM this time around.

My system was custom made for my car, so I'm sure they can custom make one for any car.

The FAST is pretty outdated, It's basically theFelPro ECU from the mid 90's. Their new XFI ecu seems pretty nice. Neither come close to the AEM/Motec/Autronic/Electromotive as far as the number of spare IO's and options. For the price/feature/support AEM EMS is hard to beat.

On a site note, I got a chance to stop by CM Racing this evening and Chris had a LS400 motor apart. I noticed that the early LS400 motors are closer to the 7M motor as far as the sensors and wiring harness goes. The SC400 motors appear to be geared towards 2JZ style sensors/wiring.
