Explain to me the LS keyless entry

Can someone explain how the keyless entry work on the new LS. I saw it on TV awhile back where the guy walks up to the door, reaches to the handle and touches it and it unlocks.

How new is new? I think Wayne have a 2007 LS460. He might able to help.

I think it was the LS430. Probably about a yr, give or take.
