Drop a nut into the oil return on the head

I was taking out my heads recently and drop an ARP nut into the oil drain in the head. I couldn't fish it out. I think it went pretty deep. The nut is smaller then the return hole. Doesn't it will lead to the oil pan? Can I open up the oil pan to get it out?

Doesn't sound like you have any option other than to pull the pan... That sure sounds like an "oh ****" moment...
