Toyota gets its first Formula One pole position at the 2005 U.S. Grand Prix with Jarno Trulli at the wheel.

Can't wait to see next year's formula, 2.4L V8, hope a lot of the technology spills over.

US Formula One Debacle

How dumb can a governing body be? As many of you may know, the US F1 race was a mess this year. Only three teams competed. Those using Bridgestone tires ([font=&quot]Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi)[/font]. The[font=&quot] Michelin[/font] tire teams were told that their tires were not safe to use on the INDY track. So when the FIA was notified and asked to allow the track to put in a [font=&quot]chicane to slow the cars down at the entrance of the high banked part of the track the FIA said no. In fact, go to one of the F1 web sites and read the FIA response. It generally said, use what tires you have. It did not seem to matter to the FIA that the tires were/are dangerous. OH yes, the FIA did say that the cars using these tires could just slow down at that point. Dumb!

It will be interesting to see how much teams will change to Brigdestone next year. Oh yeh, the race was a DISGRACE!!! Thumbs down to FIA AND Michelin.

Not a lot, if any.
I think teams will realise that it was a mistake and its just one of those things that happens...
Remeber Michelin have been whipping ass the rest of the year and probably will continue to in the races to come.

I feel for the fans that bought tickets, but it is a competitive sport. Changing the speed of that corner the day before the race would not be fair to the teams running Bridgestone. The FIA havent modified all the other tracks to suit Bridgestone teams whos tyres have been really struggling with the one set of tyres rule. Because of this I dont see how any of the blame can be put on the FIA. Michelin failed to produce a race tyre, let down their teams and the fans.
