For those who don't know about it, and are anywhere near Carlisle Pennsylvania area, this weekend is the Import Kit/Replicar Nationals. Here's the website for details: http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/import/index.asp

Lots of very nice cars & motors on display - if my 18 year old wasn't graduating from high school this weekend I would have flown up there.

On Friday I spoke with Fran Hall of Racecar Replicas, and he's going to have his new supercar, the RCR-P on display with a twin turbo, twin intercooler 1UZ motor.

Fran's choice of the 1UZ may mean the development of some interesting aftermarket parts like turbo kits, and engine/tranny adaptors from a reputable source.....

We may be seeing him on our forum soon, too.

No, our youngest is graduating from high school, so as much as I'd like to see that Carlisle show, it wouldn't do for me to miss the graduation ceremonies......

I'm pretty enthused about Fran Hall picking the 1UZ motor for his RCR-P "show" car. Fran is one of the leading manufacturers of GT-40 replicas, as well as other classic racecar replicas such as the P4 Ferrari, 917 Porsche, T70 Lola, 904 Porsche, etc. He had originally thought to use the M70 BMW motor for his RCR-P car, but decided the Lexus 1UZ, twin turboed & intercooled offered a bigger bang for the buck (no kidding!).

Interestingly, although he was after good BHP/$$$, he didn't want to just drop an LS1 or other SBC variant into the car. Like many of us, he's become bored with SBC's and their variants being stuffed into anything and everything. Too, it's a bit inconsistent to put 50 year old engine technology into a modern chassis, and calling the result a "supercar", so he wanted something more contemporary and with a bit more pizzazz for his version of the "supercar".....

Here's his website: http://race-car-replicas.com/

Here's some pics from the show, credit goes to "jimbob_racing" at: http://www.racepa.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4981&pid=70679&st=0&#entry70679

The first two are Fran's RCR-P car with the 1UZ twin turbo motor (unfortunately, without the intake piped up, and no detail of the turbo's!), and the last is 'Chelle's beautiful 250GTO replica with the BMW V12 motor. Sure looks good with "Ferrari" on the intakes doesn't it?

it has a pushrod actuated rear suspension. nice little bit of engineering. i think the Enzo and the MC12 use a rear suspension very similar to that.
