Well, i've been away for a month and a half and my battery is dead in my 94 LS400. I jumped the car and drove it for a bit, long enough to warm it up and what certainly seemed like long enough to charge the battery. the car again wasn't driven fro about another two weeks and the battery was again dead so i jumped it again. however this time, if i let the RPM fall below 1200 or so, it stalls and the alternator isn't charging the battery. Now i thought that it could be the car, but i have the battery connected via jumper cables to my BMW wich is working perfectly and it takes in literally no charge. as in the open door light doesen't come off when the cables are disconnected.

I live in eastern canada at the moment and it's REALLY cold here. Could that have broken the battery or should i take the battery out bring it into the house to warm up and then try and boost the car again. I have no battery charger myself.

Side note, wich was also a guess i had, it could be a bad battery cables, and at risk of sounding foolish, how hard are they to install, and how much can i estimate im going to spend?

What type of battery is in the Lexus? Sounds to me like the cold ruined the battery. I had this happen last year in the winter when I would not drive the Lexus often enough. I would take it to your Lexus or Toyota dealer if it is a Lexus or Toyota battery (which you should be using), have them run a load test on the battery alone.
Toyota had to replace their battery twice because I would not disconnect the battery and bring it inside the house during the winter.

If you don't drive the car that often, you may use the dry cell Optima battery. It'll cost 1/3 more than liquid battery, but it'll save the charge much longer than liquid battery.

The battery had gone dead and it's indeed dead. I have a working battery now, and the car starts perfectly every time, BUT, i am having problems keeping my idle. the car can be driven and works perfectly as long as i keep my foot on the throttle, however the second i take it off, it stalls... any more ideas?

The ECU will have reset itself from having the battery out.

Give it a decent drive and it should re-learn and run as a Lexus should.

Okay, i fully charged the battery and, as you said, i drove it around, and it starts perfectly and drives like a dream.
