I've found two types of rebuild kits that will serve my purposes;
one includes all seal, friction discs, and steel plates
2nd included all of the above minus the steel plates
These are "OEM quality", I'd love to find more performance oriented rebuild kits but no luck...and prolly out of my budget for this car right now anyway.
The second is $50 cheaper, and I'm on a major tight budget. I refuse to cheap out on parts so I'm sticking with reputable vendors but I also do not want to waste money on unnecessary parts.
Do I need to replace the steel plates? Keep in mind the transmission has over 290,000 miles, it needs a rebuild due to forward clutch failure. If these parts need to be replaced I will, but if not I can use that $50 for something else...like gas.
