iv got a 1uz with the a340 transmission in a kit car. ive had a stand alone ecu for the engine fitted and i can only change gear manually. !st / 2nd and drive. i asked the engine tuner to fit a transmission controller but all contact has been lost. i crawled underneath to see if i can match up the plug wires too the loom thats just a jumble in the engine bay, but it looks like a real jumble under there with connector blocks etc, so i was thinking it may be better to get a new transmission loom, are they all different or fairly universal for the gearbox;
model no, 30-42le
serial; no 93d e 07368

The main connector on A340s are all the same, but the pin configuration varies.
All have 2 shift solenoids, but some have pressure control or accumulator control solenoids... or both.
Some have 2-wire (linear) torque converter solenoids where others use a single-wire (on/off).
Some have internal temp sensors, some are external.
If you can't get a diagram for your specific transmission, you can easily identify which wire is which with the oil pan removed.

If you can't get a transmission controller, you can use the PRNDL switch and overdrive button to control each gear manually

  • Shifter in 1 = First
  • Shifter in 2 = Second
  • Shifter in D = Third
  • Overdrive button ON with shifter in D = 4th
