5speed to a 1uz?

hi, i have read a lot of the info provide on this site and its great...
The only thing is that there is so much that i am slightly confused...
I am not to sure if this is a dumb question but i want to put a 5speed manual to a 1uz...
The question i have is that can i only do this conversion with a 1uz out of a crown that has a seperate ecu and ect, or is it possible with all 1uz. It just seems that a lot of people have done this without the use of a 1uz out of a crown...

It is possible to do with other ECU as long as the wiring is sorted correctly. Cheers

Automatic OBD2 ECUs will throw a code if the auto tranny has been removed. We get around this by building a resistor box which fools the ECU into thinking the auto tranny is still there.

ok cool, does ths cost much to do??
This will make finding an engine far easy as the ones out of the crowns are harder to find. thanks for ur help
