5.2L Stroker

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
After much manipulating the belt routing, a plain bolt on pulley wont clear the mechanical fan pulley and with an extra pulley it wont clean the timing belt gear cover. So the only way for the SC and LS root charger to work is to make a special bracket. I made the bracket with 3/16" mild steel and weld together that is stabilized in two places to the block via the fan bracket. With proper spacers and after 4 trips to a local auto store finally got the belt on to the engine. I got K061058 Gates belt. As for the radiator water return it will be a very tight fit and most like I need a stainless steel pipe just to reduce the OD for more clearance. Here are some pictures. The process is good and making a custom throttle cable anchor.

Yeah, let me tell you I had to make 3 trips to the auto part store for belt exchange. Root style is alot harder than my setup centrifugal setup. Lots of down time. In centrifugal system you still can drive the car with partially install but not root.

Throttle Body Cable Holder

As mods continue I have to make a TB cable holder. The TB linkage is in a very difficult position. I used a partial oem holder and weld a 45 degree plate to it and then weld to the a modified plate that is stabilized behind the TB adapter. Weld, grind and painted it looks pretty good and very stiff. It initially look kindda weird but it makes sense when installed. Please see some pictures. Took some gymnastics but workable solution.

Today I took out the pulley bracket and have it reproduce for Lextremers. I order two 90 degree stainless steel 1.5" elbow to make the upper return radiator hose. OEM is slightly too big to fit between the belt travel, so I want to reduce the OD for more clearance. Got it welded up and got two silicon hoses with proper sized clams. The return elbow also clears the mechanical fan too. It is a perfect fit. Went to a local hydraulic shop and got me a fuel line and fittings. Everything is looking good and now all i need is someone to do my wiring.

How long till the wiring is done? Ive been waiting on Scott, Ryan, & now you lol to post up some video of progress on there project. Congrats & good luck.

Mitch P. made me an AEM plug and Play ECU and we tried to fire up the car yesterday. We spent about 6 hours we are very close firing it up. We need to do some diagnostic on the fuel control. We are one wire away from getting it alive...

We will try it again this Thursday with Mitch P. I tested by spraying some carb cleaner and the engine starts but dies... possible fuel issue.

Little update: We were very close getting the engine to fire. We figured it was a fuel issue so we bypass the fuel pump relay and test the fuel system. Key on and start cranking. NO FUEL coming out of the return line. We took the fuel pump from the trunk and test it.... Flow visually ok. Double check the incoming fuel to the rail was intact. However, still no fuel from the return line. Here are couple of possibilities:

1. Bad Fuel Filter: Engine still starts but should runs ok
2. Fuel Regulator: Stuck open - Return fuel line would have fuel
Stuck Closed - Massive fuel into the rail
3. Weak pump: Visually we see the volume but it might not have the pressure.

I just order a new Walboro pump and we will see. As Mitch increase the injector pulse, the engine was easily fire. As with normal setting, the engine would not start. So we suspect the fuel pump might be weak. I will keep u guys updated with this. It is very close now..

BTW: Today we ran a GM 3 Bar MAP Sensor instead of MAF.
