bearing quality is not really an issue that people should worry about as much as they do. Bearings only really serve the purpose of preventing excessive damage to the crank in the event of oiling system failure. This is why aluminum head OHC engines do not use bearings for the cams, but iron block OHV engines use bearings for the cams. Remember, the crank (or cam for that matter) does not or should not actually touch the bearing, the thin film of oil between the bearing and the crank (or cam) is what is important as is the clearance. Oil quality is probably the most important thing that you should worry about with any motor.
