Hey everyone.

Not sure if its been covered much, but I’m just after some information on converting my 91` LS400 to a 2uzfe.

My original plan was too convert my 1uzfe to manual, and eventually run a single turbo set up. Unfortunately my motor seems to be more “tired” then what we had first thought.

Am I better off to convert to the 2uz? An then have the bigger displacement to begin with, or just rebuild the 1uzfe? Both would have been rebuilt in due course to suit the turbo once something had broken.

What’s involved with the 2uz swap? Will it bolt up to the 1uz engine mount’s ect? What sort of money am I looking at for a 2uz? Better off to buy a wreck to get the loom?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it pretty straight forward. I am not sure the oil pan, but you can swap it out to LS400 oil pan (front) You gotta to have the harness and other electrical part too. You might have to use 2uzfe transmission otherwise you need to trick the stock ecu. The only thing might or might not be a concern would be the hood clearance. Otherwise, it would be a great project. I think a complete 2uzfe is about 1,200 to 1,500 USD.

Since its an iron block, its about 800-100 lbs heavier then the stock 1uzfe.
