I'm thinking of playing around with the exhaust on my 4Runner now that I have boost, plus the front Y section is bodgey as.

I've decided to go with 2.25" for the front section and keep the 3" main single rear. I'm going to buy some mandrel bends and do it myself. I like the sound of the 3" single.

If I have the single 3" system running a good 3-4 feet (including one cat) but wanted dual rears for appearance only, what sort of implications would that have on driveability and sound?

So it would be twin 2.25 into a single 3", one long straight section of 3" to just over the rear (live) axle, then split into two rears for the last two feet or so. Would 3" for those rears be overkill and rob low end? Or being so close to the rear will it not matter?

Was thinking of running the dual 3" resonator/dump pipes at the center back aka muscle car style. Though if I have resonators the pipes to them could be any diameter.

I doubt anything after a center 3" pipe of that length will matter to performance. Sound is another issue as the system will act like a wind instrument and any change will change sound.
