Hi, pulling my hair out with this one.
My 1uz vvti swapped hilux has been running fine for years. Last week it started to judder and miss at idle. I was 70 miles from home so I had to drive it back, strangely at about 3k it wakes up and not just slowly, imagine a turbo kicking in.
Plugged it in when I got back as besides the usual codes I also got p0340.
Sooo I've checked crank, cam, vvt sensors and vvt ocv for continuity and resistance and everything is within specs.
Strangely my rev counter started lying a couple of months ago but I've never had chance to get to the bottom of it yet.
Today I was having a look through live data and it showed one bank vvti on, one bank vvti off?
Any thoughts before I pull the rockers and check valve clearance and inlet cam movement?
