1uz only holding 3.7ltres of oil?

Hey got a wierd problem, bought a 1uz with a custom sump that has been going for a few years, did an oil change today and oil level sits at full with only 3.7ltres of oil. Dont sound right to me? Does anyone know if the engine can run on this amount of oil because if I put anymore in it will be touching the crank. Cheers

I worry with early crown motors when they only take 5.5 litres of oil. The later ones get up to 7.5 with stock sumps. Does the sump look really small as there are different length dipsticks as well. Cheers

Nah, looks bout the same as the factory one, just a different shape. Yea I thought it would need at least five ltrs so is quite a worry
