1UZ-FE running problem

Ok just bought the ecu at an increased cost for arrival tomorrow. Fingers crossed youre correct that it will work lol.

Ok, ECU arrived in the post this morning so hopefully i will have success tomorrow! If not its £65 down the drain and on to another ECU :-S

Well ill be a monkeys uncle. Bushwhacker it looks like theres some beer money coming your way! Video to be uploaded shortly. I had a good look over the engine and cant figure why the idle is still high. Checked all vacs (except the one i previously mentioned which is still open) but it sounds like its idling at about 1500-2000rpm. Throttle response is good at higher revs but low down its a bit spluttery. Any ideas where i can splice my tacho in? I heard the UZ works off one bank for the tacho so it should be accurate in my 4 cyclinder car tacho?

Looking back through your previous posts, you have a 1UZ from a '97 LS?
In that case your ECU is immobilised I'm affraid.

The easiest way around that is to get an ECU from an earlier LS, '95/'96 and swap the IGF wires around.

too bad your across the pond. i got a 96 ecu i grabbed in hopes i could run my 93 off of it. did some research, no go, so i never even attempted to plug it in.

Try it anyway, early '96 ECUs are not immobilised. (U.K. market)

Cheers bushwhacker. Sorry to keep bombarding you. Part number 89661-50251 is the ECU i need to make it work from the looks of that other thread. I found one by searching that number rather than searching LS400 and came up with this:

The part number is correct but its from an LS430. Would it still work? Sorry i know this probably seems like amateur hour over here!

I would fix any immobilized LS400 (1997 on), UCF20, UZS175 ECU's in my region, fyi
