i have also done the gearbox shims . my 96 uzz 31 has had 8mm shims since january without any problems , i have also done my sons uzz32 with 10mm this also has not caused any problems

hi there i also have a trd diff , dont know how tuff they are as its only done about 1000 miles , i would suggest you drive a car fitted with one if you can , my diff is slightly clunky when turning tightly such as parking , other than that i have no complaints
