Pioneer 6 disc changer error

I have a problem with my 1992 LS400 and the cd changer. When I push the cd button to listen to my cd's, a "Err" code comes up and nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it?...

I think mine does this with a few CD's as well.
More so older ones with a couple of small scratches.

I'm guessing its the laser beginning to die.
They dont usually last more than 10 years

i had a problem with the changer in my 92 sc400, i jus took it out and put a 12 disc changer, its one of the cangers transmitted through an unused radio station....it was well worth it...
