my 91 swb hilux

Ive had this hilux for about 8 and a half years.
Its under going a full rebuild and 1uz swap ,Im doing most of the work myself except wiring and the exhaust.

Give us some details dude. Like what gearbox, what diffs, what suspension etc. Also what type of driving you will be doing in it?

I remember when mine looked just like yours does, I`ll have to post up some more during build up pics of mine when I get time.

Make certain you keep us updated on its progress.

crown 1uzfe modified mid sump
r151f 5 speed box from late model hilux
crown bellhousing with custom adapter plate
billet chromemoly flywheel
kevlar clutch plate with 2200 lbs pressure plate
reset leaves with aftermarket lift shackles
wide track diffs with front and rear lockers
4 wheel disks
winch snorkel etc

used for club runs touring etc maybe a winch challenge ?

how does the clutch fit inside the auto bell? much room? have any pics of you clutch fork mods to the bell?

I haven't fitted the clutch yet, but have several mates useing the same set up and every thing fits.
I'll post some pics when i get it done.

My truck is going to be on display at the nz 4 wheel drive show in clevdon (Auckland) next weekend, 3rd april.

Trucked my cab to a mates paint shop last weekend.

Went back today and must say VERY happy with the result!.

Cant wait to get it home and start puting it back together.

It's only the first dent that hurts!. After that it's OH WELL it's used now!

This truck was a minta when i bought it ,after 9 years of 4 wheeling it was a wreck so in 9 years i'll rebuild it again!.

See if you can get more then 300mts before its first scratch. Thats about how far I got before giving mine its 1st ones again lol.

Masking tape and towels around all of the panel edges, its the only way to go

It's sitting in my garage gathering dust while i put a new kitchen in my house!

It has been up to Performance Metalwork for a nice set of headers and a 3" exhaust but thats about all ive done.

Im hopeing to get back into it soon (after the house reno) then i'll post up the progress here.

I just looked back thru this thread and realised how long it was since i updated it !

The truck now has a new hybrid chassis, surf rear end with hilux front end.
coil suspension front and rear.
hi-pinion front electric locker.
front wide axle kit.
and it looks kind of like this
