Can't a guy get an opinion!!

Come on now 25 views and not one opinion!
I would REALLY appreciate some feed back on this one ya all

fors 4300-4500 it would be a very good deal. With the mag wheels it has.

Theres always a price to pay for a clean body, this one looks perfect.

IMHO, I prefer reparing stuff than doing a body job, so i prefer a high milleage car with perfect body over a low milleage rusted or bad paint body.

Thanks

Thanks for the input.
Good eye, the body is near perfect, one ding behind the rear passenger door and its not really noticeable unless you open the door.
The wheels and tires are almost new, do I will make the offer where you suggest. If I can even get 30,000 more miles on the motor I would be happy and then I want to look at doing some mods anyway.

Again thanks for the input.

Rick

I'm not affraid you can get another 100 000miles on this engine if it has been serviced properly. I think the transmission would show signs of fatigue before the engine, because people never think of changing transmission oil.

Engine should hold as long as it runs good now...Servicing is the key...I would worry more about the other things, suspension, tranny, bushings, etc..

If it runs good, drives good, and looks good then it is a good deal...

I got a mint '96 LS400 with 112k for $7k down here in Florida, so I would keep looking for a newer / lower mileage LS. A little more $ could get you a lot more if you can swing it.

But....

New timing belt, water pump, belt tensioner and seals is a good sign of proper maintenance. Check the power steering system and alternator for any signs of fluid as well as the rack. As mentioned, worn suspension parts is another possibility.

If you want to really know the true condition on this vehicle, take it to your local Lexus Dealer for an inspection. It should run you $100-150. They'll tell you exactly what you want or don't want to know.

It's listed at $4980 and states he is open to offers. I'd try offering $4k and then walking, you can always go back if you really like it.

No matter what, make sure you have 'at least' an extra grand for the unforseen.

Thanks for the input to everyone it made my decision much easier.
I bought the car for 4500, it drives well sounds great and the guy that sold it had paper work on the car 3 inches thick so there were maint records for everything. I have set aside $1,000- for things that may pop up. It does need shocks but has new springsI think I will wait on this as I would like to drop it an 1-1/2 so I will probably go with some of the coil overs that Lex has advertised here.
Thanks again I will continue to participate here and let you all know when I turn this into a project car.
