Our forum had some server problems and was down for a day or so. As of right now, it seems to be working ok. We will be switching server in the next few days. We dont expect any down time. Anyone experience withdraw symptoms?
 
Here are my symptoms of Lextreme withdrawal include but are not limited to:

* dilated pupils
* piloerection (goose bumps)
* watery eyes
* runny nose
* yawning
* loss of appetite
* tremors
* panic
* chills
* nausea
* muscle cramps
* insomnia
* stomach cramps
* diarrhea
* vomiting
* shaking
* chills or profuse sweating
* irritability
* jitterness
 
This is what happen to our server:
Presently we have set max limit(no of requests) on our server as 50,000 per account. This is prevention measure against server crash or any other damage to server. We have set this limit for better operation and if you are getting these errors again and again, you need to check your scripts(pages) are not using more number of the server resources, if so you should modify them so that they will nor exceed allowed server resources.

We are switching to different host and hopefully this will take care of this problem..

What server are you running this forum on? I don't like PHP and HTML language to write applications. However, many servers are still using this PHP, especially for forums when it's cost effective. The funny thing is my company uses PHP. :mischievo I prefer VB and HTML.
 
I still have not recovered from the severe trama caused from the first server crash. Infact, I am still experiencing major headaches, vomiting, fevers, diarea, nausia, confusion, you name it. I also started drinking and smoking again to get thru the sheer agony of it all :smoker:

Ok,

Even after swithing host didnt solve our problem. We have too many visitors. We just switched to our own Vitrual Private Server. The cost is about 6 times as much.... ouch....
 
David - I'm using ixwebhosting and have good luck with them.

Yotatech is using Digital Crowd. They have many MORE users and never seem to have problems.
 
We still had the server crash the other day. I guess the crash had pissed you off and caused you smoke your rear. :mischievo

Yeah i switch host a month ago and paid for the transferring and hoping the problem would solved. The tech guy told me it would, so i did it. So i was pissed yesterday knowing it crashed few times and decided to go for the VPS. We are having too many files and visitors and we are hitting the 500,000 files/visitors limit. I guess lextreme.com is moving to a larger scale and the typical share server is no longer workable.

I don't think David is in this for profit and I would venture he subsidises the Site to quite some extent.
 
Lextreme products? I would hope David is making some profits and it's not all for charity...If it is all for charity then I must say bless you David you are a Saint...

However, I see nothing wrong with helping others while making a few honest bucks on the side....no?
 
Ok,

Lets stick with the topic. You will be suprise..... We have a new server now.. and hopefully... u dont experience down time. I get all of the above symptoms......
