what the hell is that coupling thingo on the back of this gearbox?

mine has a normal uni and splined input shaft...?

That is how toyota makes the lexus cars so smooth. It is a torsional damper. Usually they are mounted on the differential but it seems that toyota started to use them on both ends of the driveshaft in the later years. Those units are pretty tough, i've seen a few crack but usually when they dry up. They put up with 800rwhp with no problems.

I'll bet that is an SC400 engine trans you are looking at.

Krayn has swapped the rear extension off the Crown onto this box. Had a few problems so suggest a search under his name if you are buying it.

I have the front of the drive shaft for it and may know where the rear of the (same) drive shaft is. My bit would be free you pay the freight.

Let me know if you want them but Sydney to Perth is a long way for a courier.
