What sump position is this? Pics inside...

The distance from the edge of the sump in the dark pic is 120mm. This is to go in a MKIV Supra.
 
Possible Rear.... from the Soarer or the SC400. I have never seen the Crown oil sump. Perhaps some Aussies can jump in.

Well it isn't a front sump, and here is a pic of a mid sump, so I'm guessing that it's a rear sump.

That is a rear sump. I have been meaning to put all three sumps together and photograph then as I have examples of all three in my shop at the moment. Somehow I managed to end up with two rear sump motors as well. Cheers

Well, glad I brought this engine then! On to get flywheel and clutch etc now...
 
There are lots of Kiwi's here because we love lexus V8s. The stock car guys use them lots and we are one of countries that it is easy to do conversions / motor swaps in. Our modifacation laws are not very restrictive. Cheers
 
Yeah, not to mention the jet boat guys!

At the Circuit Sprint event I ran in at Ruapuna yesterday 2 cars had 1UZ conversions! A MKIII Supra (I think) and a MX5

im fitting one to a e30 beema but im not sure if i should use a rear,middle,or front sump. I have a front sump ready to go but not sure
 
Take tinsump off and sit engine in place where you want it then you will know what sump is needed. easy enough to make a sump to fit if need be, just got to change oil pick up to suit. I am considering dry sump then there is no hassles a little more expence, and oil tank in boot. But no oil surge and oil changes real easy and oil filter remote in boot and oil cooler easy.
