what are these, and what do they do?

In the process of replacing my starter I found this broken, not sure how it got that way, I figured I'd just glue it back together.

But what is it?

When I originally noticed this (below) it had a small rubber hose connecting one tube to the next, at some point it fell off but I havent noticed any performance issues so I just left it alone.

Also what is this?

Fisrst is a knock sensor.

The top of it is still in the plug on the end of the wiring loom.

You will need to replace it as the ECU "listens" to it to dtect knock and adjust ignition timing appropriately. They are torqued down to a very specific figure so be aware of it when replacing. A used item should be quite usable.

The second item I can't identify but it looks like an SC400 heater valve which I understand is vacuum assisted.

The third item looks like the loom tail for the hydro fan on an SC400.

The other end of it is attached to a wiring tail from the large solenoid protruding from the front of the engine beside the idler just above the crank pulley.

Rod the third one looks more like the suppressor for the coils.

I agree on the first two. I have knock sensors laying around the workshop as many aftermarket ECUs dont use them.

Cheers

Kelvin,

I gotta be honest the 3rd one is starting to bother me.

Hopefully someone can give a difinitive answer.

3rd is def a coil supressor like gloverman said

shoudl have 2 wires to it

one black with orange stripe
other white with black stripe

so with the knock sensor you think i should replace it?
would simply connecting it back and gluing it together not work?
i need to know before i put everything back together

on the outside it seems nothing more than just an electrical connection, im guessing the actual sensor is inside?

Yes it will work if you connect the terminal to the sensor.

Just make sure it can't fall off when you use it as it sure will be a mongrel to put it back on.
