Over the last couple of years I've learnt a lot off this Site.

Two years ago fuel injection was a mystery to me but now I'm comfortable diagnosing problems.

Over the weekend I diagnosed a fuel problem on my 355.

The mechanic wanted to put a new ECU in as it was running lean on one bank of the V8. A Ferrari ECU will cost you more than a good complete registered and running Soarer in Australia.

I thought for a while and thought about the information I'd picked up here and suggested they run some checks on the voltage at the injectors.

They discovered the whole bank was down on power due to a fault in the loom.

A little repair and away it went.

I just saved $15,000 by being a member here and learning.

Next time your other half says "for God's sake get of that *\=* Lextreme Site" explain nicely your're learning important and useful information.

If the fault wasn't corrected it would have eventually fried the engine at around $40,000 for a rebuild.

I've learned alot too Zuffen, been mislead about information once or twice though...Just the other day I was able to diagnos my friends Turbo Volvo problem..The car just kept cutting off and dying...I figured it was a fuel cut off after looking over the car, then after messing with it we located a fuel pump sensor near the pump that went bad...Changed it and the car ran perfect...Saved my buddy hundreds of dollars, infact one mechanic he took the car too was stuped and wanted to change out the ECU or something to try and fix the problem..I said "wait buddy let's have a look at it".....Don't think I would have located that problem if I had not been on this forum for what is going on for over three years now, I would probably still be looking for a fuel filter clog or something like that on my friends Volvo...... I can now break down a lexus with the best of them and put it all back together...

Hoooraaaahh for Lextreme....Needless to say I have met a few good friends on this forum and also have had many laughs...It's all good.....

The funny bit is I've never driven the 355.

I buy them repair them and sell them.

Never drive them. That way they don't break down on me.

I'd rather drive a FIAT then a Ferrari.

Bucket of bolts as far as I'm concerned. Give me a Porsche any day.

I and a friend do have a couple of real toys that again I may never drive but they are something to lust over.

Currently I have Lancia 037 on the water from France. The only right hand drive version ever built. Plus a couple of Lancia Stratos and I recently picked up a Bizzarrini (that will get Google going) and a Renault R5 Turbo.

Something about selling businesses and being cashed up in the current market.

If anyone is interested I can post some photos. Except the Bizza. never seen it never will!

Oh man you've got a Bizzarrini????? What do you mean you wont ever see it???? Very rare. Only seen them in the flesh at Goodwood Revival. Nice.

We purchased it sight unseen and sent it off for a resto.

Once restored we'll send it to Pebble Beach for auction.

Amazing cars but if I see it I may want to keep it.

There's a limit to what my wife will stand.

A mate and I are looking at buying a factory unit to store our toys in. Now that streches my wife's patience even more.
