Not 100% sure if this is the right area to post but I'm sure I'll get redirected if not.

I have a trans that is supposed to be for a Soarer, but the plugs don't match.
So either a) I don't have a Soarer 1uz like I have always thought; or
b) The trans is wrong.

My question is this 1uz guru's;

Can I just remove the wires from the loom plugs and connect in their respective positions, or do I need a replacement trans??

First 3 pics of the shifter plug, last 3 of the other plug LHS rear of trans.

looks like a mix of A340 and A650 connectors in those photos both are technically soarer autos!

check the little blue plates on the side of the autos, the shifter position switches can be swapped between transmissions but you can't run a 4 speed auto on a 5 speed loom or vise versa

Here's the plate for the trans I have, and I'm still trying to find the firewall tag from the front cut which might shed some light as to what I should have in the way of a trans.

Cheers for your help guys. Sounds like I might have to source a more compatible trans.

Unfortunately I don't have the original trans to swap bits over from, the scrap man happily grabbed it.

The trans is for 94-97 UCF20 so it's definitely 4spd one, your engine's factory transmission is 4spd as well

See the code on your ecu 89661-something => search toyodiy.com or elsewhere for corresponding model/year

Next get diagrams for both 94-97 LS400 and your ecu donor and see the number of solenoids in transmission for both. If the number is the same, it's quite reasonable to try to fit your existing transmission.
