When swaping the torque converter with the performance lextreme TC I was wondering if there would be any tranny problems or anything because my mechanic said it would ruin my tranny.

no he didn't he just said you'll be in here again in a couple months putting a new tranny in so he just suggested not to do it.

There are a zillion aftermarket torque convertors sold. I think he's an old, money grabbing transmission mechanic. I use to work in a transmission shop for afew summers a couple of years ago.
Biggest racket on Earth.

Just get a normal mechanic to put it in. It's not a big deal. It's less complicated than doing a good job changing a clutch in a manual.

if he is a money grabbing tranny mechanic why would he tell me not to put it in he is not making any money then. and he doesn't work at a tranny shop he is a normal mechanic he just advised me not to do it and I kinda just wanna know why but I guess if nobody has ever ruined there tranny by putting one in then it must be ok.

He probley made that comment because the type of people to upgrade there torque converter's (yes all of us) are also the type to drive there car's hard.

In other words, it's more how you drive your car and what your using it for

A normal mechanic doesnt give advise about things he doesnt know about.Like AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
You see an automatic tranmission specialist with extensive experience in what he does best & with what he had exposure to.
To increase the stall speed you must have a reason not just to pull some majic rabbit of his hat.It has to suit your CAM BAND,when the cam or torque starts to kick in.Youll know this by your dyno sheet(this thing doesnt bull***t unlike the owners of a new motor with something to prove)
If your confused, just see a pro
