We have a LS-400 with 230K. It runs great. Took a short trip to the store and it would not start. By that I mean it there was nothing when the ignition key was turned......no sound of even the starter trying to turn over the engine. The battery was fine and I checked all the fuses and they were fine.

Is this a common problem that someone might have some clues for hopefully something I can fix myself? Is this an obvious starter replacement and is that a DIY job?

thanks for any tips

If the battery is fine, check the cords that give power to the starter. Use a voltmeter to test those and make sure the starter is getting power. Because the battery can be fine, but may not be giving power to the starter.

Starters dont typically just go bad randomly. Check all connections you possibly can regarding the starter. Yeah--some may be hard. Get a flash light. Sounds like a connection problem to me.

How did you test the battery?

If your starter is bad---that blows serious ass.
