Speed Limiter

Gday, just wondering about the speed limiter in the sc400. I beleive it cuts in at 180kph, my question is when you reach 180, the speedo shouldn't go any higher....but does it jam on 180 or will it just stop on 180 and once you decrease your speed will it work again?
I would very rarely travel at this speed, but if i was to i don't want to replace the speedo because it jammed on 180.

Car is electronically limited to 180kph.
Its like hitting a soft rev limiter.
The dash also will not read higher than 180kph.

So your saying that, although you are unable to go any fast or get the speedo any higher than 180, the speedo will not jam? Like if i was to slow back down to 100kph, the speedo would show 100 and not have jammed on 180....correct?
