I plan to adapt my crown auto to a hilux geared transfer.

The cost of getting a surf gearbox then an adapter to a gear driven transfer is significantly more than a custom adapter from the stock toyota box to the transfer, including a shaft respline.

Does the ECT need a speed imput from the gearbox. Will I need to have a speed takeoff machined into the adapter. What will happen if i use the transfer case speed

A divorced transfer cant work for me as it is too long

it definately needs a speed sens from the auto output shaft or it wont change outa first when in lo range, ask me how I know? I made that mistake

i sell adapters that are for the crown auto ecu and engine ecu
they screw onto where the speedo cable screws on

but i think they need to go off the output shaft rotation

not the transfer case

as i think the transfer has hi and low

so if it ran off the tranfer rpm speed it might cause probs

do u have any sensors on back of auto box

i have many devices to change signals and adjust them too
for a variety of options
but prices can vary alot dpeending what devices u need to get the correct signal to the ecus

i have done tests and know what ratio of signals are needed to get a correct signal to the ecus

Im getting the adapter made up with the 32pulse sensor fitted

I assume this is what the ECT requires, or at least can be adapted

no thats wrong

the 32 gets divided down by 8 in the abs ecu

so the auto ecu needs 4 pulse per rotation of the output shaft

thats for one speed sensor

then u have the pother speed sensor that is 4 pulses per revolution of the speedo cable

its not easy to get both sensors working ok when u mod the gboxes

but u only need 1 speed sensor

the other one is a backup

but if u dont havbe the back up and the main fails then it wont change gears

in my hilux for the electronic speedo and the seonsor to work properly on the ecus i have spent 500 bucks in devices to get correct readings

at end of day i fitted tiptronic to it
much better gear changes cause i choose when it changes
cause std gear changes suck asssssssss
and similar price

If i was getting a new one machined I would have only 4 teeth on the pulse gear?

Would it be the same length tooth (2-3mm from memory) with a long gap, or longer teeth?

Speedo sensor will run from transfer, no backup to ECT

For tiptronic, do you use the stock shifter with a switch for auto or tiptronic, or is it full time tiptronic?
