hi all, im about to buy an LS400 and i was trying to find some of the things i should look out for when inspecting the car.
i want to get a 95-97 model.
i probably cant afford anything newer than a 95, but ive not found too much in the way of what to look out for and how to check.
any advice you could give a soon to be LS400 owner would be much appreciated!!!
thanks,

Well the 95' have revised brakes, which are much needed over 1st gen. Engine puts out slightly more hp, and 1 second faster 0-60. Interior is nicer and body is sculped slightly diff in certain areas. Great car all around, and cheap to insure (1 point left on my license and this car saved me) 200k miles here and no replacement any time soon :)

Since your looking into a luxury car I would take the time to have it inspected by a reputable mechanic. Have him compression/coolant test and check brakes. Also, check the power steering system and have it tested, one of the most common failures on the LS. These cars are built extremely well, just make sure the last guy didn't take that for granted! Good luck on the purchase bro.

how long have you had it??
had any issues with the recline mechanism on the drivers seat??

thanks for your input.

My power seats failed last year but it was off a 1991 and the plastic got brittle and broke. I strongly believe the 1995+ models are better made. The entire car was revised in 95' and every aspect of the car was redone.
