SC400 Tilt Steer

Has anyone has an issue or a solution on how to fix the tilt steering column on '94 SC400. The switch, when put to down will not make the steering column to go down.

Did a search on here and nothing came up for this issue.

hey,there is a plastic gear in the column that gets loose.
take the plastic shields around the column off and it's behind there.
the way i found it was when i had the plastic shield off i would push the adjust button and found the source of the noise.i took the gear off and shimmed it with a plastic soda bottle cap that i shaved down a little.
maybe you can find a better shim,but thats all i had at the time,and it's been working fine for me for about two years now...:afro:

that video shows u exactly what to do. Its an LS but im sure its same as ur the procedure is same or similar to ur SC.
