Hello Everybody,

This is my first appearance on this forum, so I would like to introduce myself:

I am an engineer in shipping business who lives in Poland. I was always crazy about cars. Currently I have a Nissan 200sx S13 with CA18DET engine, heavily modified pushing 430BHP, for everyday driving there are an E34 M5 1995, 6 speed gearbox - mint condition, and a Toyota Land Crusier HDJ100 4.2TD - my second half uses it mostly, ramming parking poles once every month:D
Cars is my hobby, and because of my new project I have joined Lextreme.

So,

Recently I have bought an SC300 english version (steering wheel on right side) without engine, but it's in good condition. Quite some time ago I've also bought 1UZ-FE because of its bulletproofness and potencial. Now I want to combine those two elements.

My question is:

What will I have to modify, within mechanical area, and are there any diffrences between SC300 and SC400 besides the motor?

Also, who do I have to contact to get some shipping prices, because I will need a whole engine rebuild kit with some extras?

Best regards to all,
Tomas

Welcome Tomas, and congratulations on your English. You speak it better than many who claim it is their mother tongue!

I am a Supra, not a Lexus owner, so I can't help you very much with suggestions for your SC300, but there are many Lexus owners here who can.

I do know that David (Lextreme) sells a very nice & complete rebuild kit for your motor, and he has a lot of experience exporting them. Everyone seems to be quite pleased with both the quality and price of his kits. This page: http://www.lextreme.com/rebuilt.html is a summary of the rebuild kits, and this page: http://www.lextreme.com/allgo.html is devoted to the products he sells. His contact details are on the first page.

If you are anticipating turbo or supercharging the engine in the future, you may want to consider upgrading to ARP fasteners in the rebuild kit, as well as thicker head gaskets, etc.

Hi,

Thank you Cribbj, I guess it comes with the job - very helpfull when negotiating contracts;)

I will make a total rebuild of the engine (Cometic head gaskets, ARP head studs, ACL bearings and new piston rings), just to have a good, reliable foundation. I was thinking for quite some time, if I should go for turbo/supercharger or leave it N/A, and I guess I will go for maxed out N/A if I will achieve a powerband that intrests me. I haven't been through the whole forum yet, so I don't know how much power can you get choosing N/A way - is 400whp possible?

Thank you for help,

Tomas

400 rwhp on the NA route can be done, but the cost involved may be more than to FI it. I see there's a 1UZFE N/A that claims to make 400 rwhp on Youtube.com.

I'd rather supercharge or turbocharge it for having more power. The SC3 and SC4 bodies are identical, including the subframe and suspension. So putting the 1UZFE into the SC3 shouldn't be a big problem.

More I read this forum, more I am convinced about turbocharging the motor... Need to run some numbers before I make any decisions.

Only thing I would like to see is an exhaust system pipe routing for single turbo 1UZFE.

BTW: SC3 and SC4 are identical, what about Toyota Soarer?

The Soarer is identical to the SC300 and SC400.

Same car just badged differently for different markets.

Whilst I say that there are minor differences as one is a Toyota and the other a Lexus but from the mechanical perspective the only difference I'm aware of is one has traction control and one doesn't.
