HI,

Just took the rear of my 1999 LS400 gearox to fit my Surf transfer box and yeiks, it must be a 5 speed.

Does anyone know if there is a 5pspeed surf or hilux transfer case to use?

The only way you'll get the transfercase to fit the back of the Lexus five speed transmission is to get hold of or fabricate an adapter housing.

Gloverman on here makes/sells them but they are very expensive.

Alternatively fit a Lexus four speed transmission to the back of the VVTi motor.
 
Hi,

If I get a 4 speed, can I use the torque convertor and bell housing from my 5 speed?

I have found a cheap one without both.

I'm pretty sure the 4/5 speed bellhousings are the same.
Not so sure about the T/Cs but I would have thought they were the same.

No idea about the Landcruiser 'box, you'll have to offer it up and see.
