Recently I upgraded my stock radiator to Koyo Supra TT. While I was installing it, I forgot to plug back the vacuum line back to the wastegate. The computer is programmed and tuned at 18 psi max. However, while I was driving my car and I wasnt aware of the vacuum line not being plug in. I boosted to 25 psi. I heard some pingings initially but ignored for a second and boost again. The second time I heard of the pinging I knew something was very wrong. However, after the pingings, the car ran fine.
Recently I have a gasket leak and radiator fluid going into the cylinder. That is other story, but I open up the head and noticed the pistons are in great shape. No sign of burning or destrustion. I know few guys ran lean and kill their pistons. Luckily in my case it didnt happened. These are the initial Ross Group Buy forged pistons. Currently I am changing the head gasket. Yes only one side is bad.
