Hey guys, I'm getting oil leaks after going turbo. Found a puddle of oil around the spark plug area sitting on the valve cover. I think this may be the valve gasket so I may need to replace it. Anyone else experience mysterious oil leaks after going FI? Is there a permenant fix for this? Thanks!

It seems like you had oil blowby. Do you have an oil catch can or an air breather to vent out the oil in case of blow by? On the 1UZ, it should be hooked to the right valve cover (passenger).

AS 4U2 said..
Check crankcase breather is NOT connected to intake.. They are connected on N/A std engine.. The vent MUST be disconnected and connected to air cleaner side via catch can ...
Extra crank ventilation won't hurt either..
Double check ignition timing ...
Check PCV is holding against boost?? A one way valve from some brake booster hose helps against boost...
Timing / tune if not stand alone. piggy back etc ???
You may have to run timing slightly retarded to prevent detonation in higher rpm...

This one I have to leave connected back to PCV? I'm not quiet sure I understand this completely, Is there a reasoning to this? My mechanic disconnected the driver side and we put a breather on it because he thought it was causing the blowby in the first place.

Thanks for your response!

IF the PCV is holding up against boost ?
It should be fine...Some vacuum in crakcase when off throttle
helps keep condensation / moisture away and keeps oil clean..

Another one way valve CAN BE added to be sure..

Extra crank venting is not a bad idea either...
Such as drilling & tapping, glewing outlet at the rear plastic
cam bang...

Atleast one side MUST vent on boost...
The other side should be on air cleaner side of turbo..
If not BOTH vents will be closed on boost ..
Which I see may happen on that link ???
The vent to air cleaner should be between air meter and turbo
if runing [MAF] air meter... This way the air is not re- metered through MAF
and on suction side of induction...
