New on forum please help

I have installed a 1uz in to my Hilux 4 speed auto box used a spitronic management system the motor does not start, have tested the coils for spark replaced the plugs getting feul checked the timing all is ok but does not fire up,I did hoever have it running for one day it was starting and idling although it was hunting between 1000-1500 rpm
Any ideas will be apreciated I am situated in South Africa so spares is not frealy avalible.

if u have fuel then u must have no spark

check basics

do u know how to test signal into ignitor then signal from ignitor to coils
u checked for spark but u did notsay if u had it


if yr injectors are pulsing then thecrank andcam signals must be ok

if ignitors arenot set up right ordwell isnot right itseasy to burn the ignitors or coils after afewminutes of idling

sorry i dont know the ecu u have fitted

Hi i get spark at the plugs the injectors are pulsing If i press the feul pedal flully down and then try to start it sounds like it almost wants to goe but then just swings on

Smell like fuel? If it is getting plenty of fuel, but isnt firing, it should stink of it.

maybe the spark plugs have fouled. Very commom on a untuned ECU. Cheers

who tunes ecus these days

just buy a microtech and run it on the base tune like everyone else

i get these kinds of people all the time

same with link - base tune is does every different injector, different intake and exhaust - I wish. I have my own base tunes which are heaps better than standard - for heap of different vehicles and then tune from there. You can even use a crappy base tune to ran your motor in according to many. I'm not that brave and like to clean it up for a decent ran in. Cheers.

yer i wont do tunes

thing that pisses me off is customers cant justify 600 to 800 bucks on nice good wiring jobs which take a day or day and a half

but they will pay 300 to 500 for a good tune which sometimes takes under 2 hours

the main thing is collecting tunes and loading them on to get as close as u can then get finish rest of tune

i do alot of 5.7 and 6 lt holden engines now since i have the tunign software

but i wont put one on the dyno i leave that for experts

Yes the spitronics comes with a base map and you tune it till it runs fine for you so as i said this was all done had it running for one day but there after did not fire up again Yes getting feul getting spark not starting up?
Was getting to much feul at one stage but tunes the jets now it does not flood any more but still not starting

good to hear it runs. Its easy to foul plugs with aftermarket ECUs before they are tuned. Now spend some time tuning it really well and it should give a good ran. Cheers
